Joey Zimmermann
Joey Zimmermann is born 1961 in London / Hammersmith as a son of jewish parents. He grew up in Basel and in Ticino, the Italian part of Switzerland. He degrees as an actor at the Acting Academy in Zurich (ZHDK). 1989 he is the main-role in the movie "Dreissig Jahre" (by Christoph Schaub).
In the same year he starts at the Schauspiel Köln, and changes 1990 to the Schiller-Theater in Berlin. After that he works free-lance among others with Volksbühne Berlin and in movies (a.o. the serial: Hinter Gittern). He is employed at the Schauspiel Bonn, the Schauspielhaus Zürich, the Nationaltheater Mannheim and at the Schauspielhaus Wien.
In Switzerland he continues to play in movies and in free projects as Schauplatz International and the self-reliant Groups "Rust/Wolf/Zimmermann" and "Freunde des Glücks".
2005 to 2012 he takes a regular actor-job at the Theater Aachen. Repeatedly he realizes own projects, often relating between visual and performing arts. Since 2012 he is working as a free-lance in theatre and film, living in Zurich and Berlin. Agency: Neue Pegasus Berlin.
